Headless CMS FAQ
Questions teams askbefore they switch.
Straight answers on headless CMS development, content modeling, and how a modern CMS pays for itself.
What is headless CMS development?
Headless CMS development separates where content is stored and edited from where it is displayed. Instead of locking content into page templates, a headless CMS exposes it through an API, so the same content can be delivered to a website, a mobile app, a kiosk, or an AI assistant. We model the content, build the editing experience, and connect it to modern front ends like Next.js, Astro, or SvelteKit.
What is the difference between a traditional CMS and a headless CMS?
A traditional CMS such as classic WordPress couples content and presentation in one system — quick to launch, but harder to reuse across channels. A headless CMS keeps content structured and presentation-independent, delivered via API. Traditional suits a single marketing site; headless suits brands publishing to a website plus apps, multiple regions, or AI surfaces from one source of truth.
WordPress vs headless CMS — which should I choose?
Both are valid. We build modern, block-based WordPress when editors want a familiar all-in-one tool for a single site. We recommend headless — or headless WordPress — when you need multi-channel delivery, very high performance, or a custom front-end framework. In a free CMS audit we map your channels, team, and budget to the right choice.
Do I actually need a headless CMS?
You likely benefit from headless if you publish the same content to more than one place, run multiple languages or regions, care about Core Web Vitals and page speed, or want your front end built in React or Next.js. If you run a single brochure site that one team edits, a well-built traditional CMS may be all you need.
Which CMS and headless platforms do you build on?
We build and migrate across WordPress and Webflow, and headless platforms including Sanity, Contentful, Strapi, Storyblok, and Payload, paired with front ends in Next.js, Astro, and SvelteKit. We choose the stack around your team and content, not the other way around.
Can you migrate my existing site without losing SEO?
Yes. We migrate content into the new model, preserve URL structures with 301 redirects where they change, carry over metadata and structured data, and tune Core Web Vitals — so a CMS replatform protects, and usually improves, your search rankings rather than risking them.
